Italian restaurant teases re-opening after remodel
Bambino’s Cafe, 1141 E. Delmar St., is preparing to open after its remodel, according to a Facebook post. The post teased the Springfield spot’s re-opening as “coming in June.”
The Delmar Street location closed in 2024 for renovations, prompting the opening of Bambino’s Cafe on Walnut. The Walnut Street location was temporary and anticipated to stay open through mid-May, according to a Facebook post, but the April 30 power outages forced it to close sooner.
“We are so sorry for the short notice, but we are so excited that we can now put all of our energy into getting our Delmar renovations finished as soon as possible!” said the restaurant in the post.
Bambino’s Cafe on Battlefield, 2810 E. Battlefield Road, is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
‘Shaved snow’ shop comes back as food truck
Sweet N Snow, which opened as a brick-and-mortar location on Glenstone Avenue in 2019, is returning to Springfield as a food truck, according to the business.
The Taiwanese “shaved snow” vendor will have its grand opening at 11 a.m. May 10 at Metro Eats, 2463 W. Sunshine St.
Sweet N Snow closed its original location in 2022. In March 2025, the business posted that it was preparing to re-open under new ownership.
