An avid fangirl of M&S I had to..warn? Others about this atrocity I had the misfortune to experience.
Let me start by saying I'm a M&S fan..I love their food and it's a real treat for me to be able to eat their stuff, ready meals, sandwiches, deli items..it's my go to when I need.
So, I have had a taste of a "dubai chocolate " and I liked it, surprised at the hype but didn't consider it until I happened upon the M&S version.
First of all.. there is no secondary wrapping, no foil, plastic wrap.. do M&S truly believe this is a treat that will be eaten in one hit?
Upon opening I was disconcerted to see there was no.. sectioning..no tidy lines to divide the bar, just a slab, I didn't like that.
I cut myself a slice, and prepared for a treat, this is M&S after all.
Nothing could had prepared me for the horrible sweet, cloying mass I had.
The big daddy has a layer of caramel between the chocolate and the pistachio layer.
The chocolate was.. like the remains of an old Christmas tree decoration, the caramel was super sweet, the pistachio layer lacked any "nutty" flavour, all together it was such an assault on my tastebuds I spat it out.
Like dubai the bar was crass,overwhelming and felt cheap and nasty.
I expected better from M&S but..would advise those who haven't, not to bother with this.
