It’s possible that unsafe compounds or metal residues could transfer into the food if the restaurant is using a regular hardware store shovel (which they def are), especially when it’s red hot. It’s not food grade steel, and it’s red hot, which makes it worse and more likely to contaminate food.

The best place for that shovel is up the restaurant owner’s ass. I hate obnoxious, gimmicky shit like that. Give me good food, with good service, at a fair price, and I will be a loyal customer. Singeing a burrito with a red hot shovel is not impressive, or a reason to visit that restaurant. It’s a good reason to avoid it, because it is fucking stupid.
