I also love sesame seeds and my husband doesn’t. We use what we have (I mixed 00, AP and a bit of WW) but it’s this recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/233652/homemade-hamburger-buns/

Nice job. How much would that cost per bun?

I made those the other day! A little dry, but good

Would the turnout suffer if I were to use bread flour instead of all purpose? I only have bread flour on hand

Look great! I completely understand not wanting to pay the money. There’s a lot of things I bake because it’s just too expensive at the store

I love homemade buns, but I have trouble keeping them as fresh as they were made the day of.

  6. Excellent! If you want to up your game, try making Pan de Cristal hamburger buns. They’re so worth it.

Got this recipe from a youtube comment of all things but it’s the best burger roll i’ve ever made..

    6 Rolls

    AP Flour – 293g

    milk – 100g

    boiled potato riced – 67g

water from potato boil – 23g

    butter – 29g

egg – 26g (about half an egg)

    white sugar – 24g

    sea salt – 7g (about 1.5tsp)

    instant yeast -2g (about 3/4tsp)

    375f – 15-18 minutes

(Original recipe makes 12 rolls so I cut in half hence the 1/2 egg)

The comment referenced Mark Sinclair so credit to him I guess but these rolls are fucking awesome.

Once you’ve entered into this territory it’s hard to go back. Everything in the store is inferior! They look delicious!!!

  9. Homemade buns are where it’s at! I usually do a potato bun… it’s enjoyable and I get exactly what I want, so worth my time. Never mind a lot of the “time” is passive

  10. You said 6 pieces for 5$.

What is the cost if you make it by ourselves?
