and threw a couple slices of Monterey Jack I found in my fridge in the mix. Crumbled in some air fried bacon too. Was expecting a larger disaster, could it been worse? Maybe yes.

Why use almond milk if you’re not using dairy-free cheese?

  2. water and cream cheese sounds better than almond milk in mac and cheese to be honest

  3. LOTRfreak101

This definitely sounds like a strict upgrade, and I think every single lactose intolerant person I’ve ever met would agree

  4. Chuffmonster

The shittiest part is that you used almond milk in the first place

  5. reidybobeidy89

I would take that over almond Milk Mac n cheese any day.

  6. ViciousCombover

What? You made mac and cheese without nuts and think it’s a disaster?

  7. FearlessFreak69

The “had to” part is what gets me. You didn’t have to do any of this.

  8. strategycaster

i mean its not the worst looking mac and cheese ive ever seen

  9. Potential-Narwhal-

Isn’t almond milk like 90% water anyway?

Amateur. One time I made mac and cheese out of a box where it recommended substituting yogurt for the milk.  All I had was vanilla yogurt and I thought, “What the hell.” I thought the cheese would somehow mask the vanilla flavor.  It did not.  I fully expected Gordon Ramsey to kick down my door and beat me into a coma

People seem confused on why you’d use a milk substitute and a dairy cheese (even tho OP said its not a dietary reason). As someone who is lactose intolerant, I pick my battles 😂 id rather have mac and cheese with a milk substitute and dairy cheese and not fully destroy myself than have completely shitty mac n cheese lolol

  12. You have hidden talent. I would hide this. Fabulous

  13. BedtimeGenerator

Unless its a lactose intolerance thing, throw some condensed milk in next time

I love almond milk. I love mac and cheese. But never the two shall meet.

My brother in christ all you need is heavy cream and shredded cheese

  16. Almond milk is like 99% water, a couple almonds, and guar gum as a thickener. So I think cream cheese is an improvement for consistency.

Nobody has come out and said it yet, so just to be clear, you’re insane.

Do not substitute milk in recipes with milk alternatives 🙁

Liking almond milk in drinks is great and all, but the point of milk in most recipes is to add fat and/or creaminess. Milk alternatives are not going to do that and it is going to taste so different and sad

Water and cream cheese is actually better for that reason

  18. Loud_Charity

Almond milk you buy at the grocery store is 99% water. I made a fresh HALF gallon of almond milk and it cost me OVER $80. Clown shit making a macaroni with it

  19. BaconCatSweaters

Some baked mac and cheese recipes call for cream cheese. Definitely a better option than almond milk

Why don’t people check to make sure they have everything before they start cooking?

  21. CinnamonBun_ZSD

How did it taste? It doesn’t actually sound too bad

  22. SaulGoodBroo

Does almond milk where you live also contain only 2.5% of almonds and is mostly just water anyway? Your substitute sounds better
