Every time I go to sulbing, I pay $2 to get 2 extra sides of milk. At this point, it would make way more sense for me to just buy a can of it!!

So i went to the grocery store, bought sweetened condensed milk, and realized that that was NOT the same thing!! Actual sweetened condensed milk is super think, insanely sweet, and slightly darker in color. This stuff has the color of whole milk and a similar consistency, and is sweet but not sickly sweet. There is no flavor of coconut.

Does anyone know what exactly this product is and where I can buy it?? I would appreciate it so much!

Just blend milk with condensed milk

    1:8 ratio condensed:regular

    2 tbsp:1 cup

You can play around a little with the ratio for thicker, sweeter or thinner milk. You can use any milk you want

Love the strawberry cheesecake! Shout out to the SGV!

  3. idk about your place but in EU you get different consistencies of condensed milk, some are to put in coffee (no its not cream) some are for baking and chocolate treats (italian and eastern european products). They have different thicknesses, sweetness and additives, like chocolate or caramelised.

just shake the product to feel the thickness

Could be lightly sweetened milk for all we know.

Maybe milk and a touch of corn syrup or whatever syrup sweetener these cafes/bobashops use to sweeten water/teas.

  6. Have you tried different brands of condensed milk? There’s quite some variation… Here’s a start https://www.seriouseats.com/taste-test-sweetened-condensed-milk

I’d also try sweetened creamers, which should be sold next to condensed milk in most shops, with more varieties in Vietnamese or Southeast Asian. My experience with these is that they are whiter, a little less sweet, and a little more neutral tasting, which I prefer over the real thing sometimes!

This may be just a terminology mixup.

Evaporated milk can also be called condensed milk, as distinct from sweetened condensed milk which many people simply call condensed milk. Evaporated milk is slightly sweet, and much less thick than sweetened condensed milk.
