And like an idiot I left the chimney in too long and I melted the vent handle 😫 I’ve had it 5 days! Is there anything I can do? I did email Weber. It haven’t heard back yet.

Did you put the lid on with the chimney inside? If so, why?

  2. Have you also put your serial number into the site? Looking at the handle, I bet it is user replaceable, and likely doesn’t require removing the vent, unless Weber designed the handle to not come off for safety reasons. In that case, a new vent would be needed.

If you get new from Weber it’s not covered, then you could also make a wooden handle out of some walnut or teak, and have a unique look and it would weather OK as well.

How did this happen? The chimney should be on the complete other side of the lid, with the lid tilted back so this handle would be touching the rear bar.

Trying to replicate what happened here, please share more about the chimney please

You have the lid on WITH a lit chimney? Uh, no.

  6. Where the hell was the chimney? Sitting on top of your grill lid…

Ours melted the same way just using a vortex. Emailed Weber and they sent a whole new lid
