The Pelham Hotel in London has announced that Il Mercato, the popular event inspired by the traditional Italian food market, will now run every Thursday at La Trattoria by Alfredo Russo.

Each week, Mercato transforms into a ibrant showcase of Italy’s regional culinary heritage, offering guests an immersive journey through the distinct flavours and ingredients that define each area’s gastronomy. This will include cuisine of Emilia-Romagna to the citrus-laced coastal dishes of Sicily, or the alpine comfort food of Piedmont, every month offers a new culinary journey across Italy and all without leaving London.  

The experience will begin with a wide range of regional antipasti laid out on a rustic buffet, evoking the authentic spirit of an Italian market. Guests can enjoy delicious homemade focaccia, alongside an array of regional Italian charcuterie, including delicate prosciutto, salami, and mortadella. For mains, visitors can choose from different options of traditional dishes like Umbria’s Pappardelle with Black Truffle from Norcia, or Marche’s Traditional ‘Vincisgrassi’ Lasagna, to Tuscany’s Fiorentina Steak, to name a few. 

Talking about the news, Roberto Roncolato, Executive Head Chef at The Pelham says: “Il Mercato is a journey through food and a celebration of our roots. We’re very proud to be able to showcase not just Italy, but the rich gastronomic culture of its many regions—and to bring that level of variety and authenticity to our guests right here in the heart of London.”

Curated by Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo and led by Executive Head Chef Roberto Roncolato, the experience is priced at £35 per person, excluding drinks and dessert.
