I wouldn’t be opposed to it, but the baby could still try swallowing the bone whole.

I was always told growing up “I cut a tooth” on Aurelios pizza, same as Kenny’s ribs.
So basically my parents gave me the shit ends of boths foods just to shut me up at dinner.
Thank you, parents.

I know it’s a joke but I legit just take the meat off the bone and give it to my two year old and she loves it. I think she’d probably be confused by the presence of a bone.
I have a great picture of my son nomming on a lamb chop when he was 1. Only concern with ribs would be if the baby could chew off bites too big to swallow. Wouldn’t want to feed them 3-2-1 ribs for that reason unless you shredded it first

My son loved ribs around 1yrs old. I recommend it to any parent doing baby led weening.

yummy too

On left, we have the no-wrap 5 hour cook and on the right, the 3-2-1.

My 11 month old had ribs 2 weeks ago.

I have a video from when my daughter was 3 months old, too young for food, but she was sitting on my lap while I was eating some brisket burnt ends I made my wife an I. I think it was the smell that she wasn’t able to comprehend so the video is just of me eating and her looking at the food and laughing hysterically until she spit up. 4 years later and she’s definitely downed her fair share of BBQ.

Yupp. I love the videos of my kid munching on a beef rib

My Texan kids all got a beef rib to celebrate their first teeth.
I’ve got photos of each of them gnawing on pork ribs in the bathtub. Makes for a great photo series.

my 1 year old loves ribs and steak, his first real meal besides milk was steak.
They forgot to add. To attach a chain to it. So the baby doesn’t choke🤦♀️😆

I must be a big baby

my 9 month old baby LOVES sucking and gumming on meat. She was putting down some flank steak last night.

I wouldn’t do this unless you quality cuts from an actual butcher. A lot of the grocery store cuts have tons of gristle and bone flakes they can choke on.

I’m pretty sure my first solid food was my parents handing me a pork chop, so some parents know its advantages.

I am really disappointed no one is talking about how the picture isn’t even spare ribs it’s babybacks

My 1 year old fucking loves eating drumsticks and ribs. He’s half Puerto Rican and my MiL gives him all kinds of food. He has a palate for, uh, ANYTHING that’s put in front of him. I swear he’s gonna turn out to be a 6’6 linebacker

Interesting. My parents and other relatives used whiskey for teething babies back in the 70’s.

I lived on ribs and t bone steaks as a kid. Good times.

True Story: San Diego about 51 years ago. Restaurant called The Colony House. Fri/Sat were prime rib nights. Sundays they took the bones, tossed them on a BBQ or something….slathered in sauce and set them out as bar appetizers. Story goes that my dad and grandpa would take me with them (1 year old) and sit me on the bar….hand me a bone and let me go to town. My dad said I was pretty much as big of a draw as whatever football game was on that day. Ladies loved me. I point to this as the time in my life I fell in love with beef ribs and football.

What’s the nubbin of bony gristle on the end of a rib called? When my 7 yr old was still in diapers, he almost choked to death on that. He was turning blue! Luckily my wife saved him.

That looks more like a loin rib than a spare rib. Spare rib bones aren’t as curved.

My baby cries when I take away her rib! That one was prime though
Yep, gave all my kids meat on bones when they were babies when they were getting interested in solids. When they’re little they’re not likely to get much off, it’s basically just a delicious teething ring. As they start to get bigger, they might get little bits off, and that’s a nice bonus. And then when they’re big enough to actually eat, they’re already interested in eating meat off the bone. It’s wins all round!
Until they hit about 4 and decide all they want to eat is nuggets.

Can confirm my first child was eating ribs before even 1yr, loves them still. Just had my 2nd last week, looking forward to the repeat
