    Looks delicious! My wife is German and I make my own version of this with chopped up bacon or fried ham chunks. Do you use emmentaler? My wife and her family prefer that but I’m not a fan so I use a mozzarella, Munster mix. I caramelize the onions and mix in before baking. Thanks for posting (we press our own spatzle!)

    You know i’ve got a recipe book from my family when they came over from germany, I’ll have to thumb through and see if there is a recipe for this in there and make it.
