I’ve never planted Cherokee purples before, so I don’t know if it goes through a pretty red stage before turning purple. I was also expecting the fruit to have lots of hips, but these are the roundest most “tomato” looking tomatoes I have ever grown. Did the plants get mislabeled or is it just too early for the purple to show up? Zone 9 if that helps.

That’s not a Cherokee Purple, sorry my friend. It’ll never turn purple. 😂

Looks like a hot house or similar.

    Is the plant even indeterminate?

That is not a Cherokee purple. Looks like a celebrity, better boy, etc. Maybe a Rutgers as well.

Where did you buy the plant? If it was a big box store then sometimes mischievous kids will swap out labels.

Remeber the scene in Thomas Crowne Affair with the museam and the scarcophagus?

What you have there is NOT a cherokee.

My Cherokee Purples are more pink/red than purple. Whereas Black Krim is more purple than black. Having said that, that’s not a Cherokee Purple based as much on shape as anything else. That looks like some type of hybrid. It’s a pretty tomato though!
