I’m trying every celebrity Chef’s signature dish and today we’re making the iconic salmon cornetes from chef Thomas Keller every meal at The French Laundry begins with this salmon cornette it is the signature premal appetizer that is served to every guest and has been on the menu since Thomas Keller took over in 1994 for those wondering no The French Laundry is not a fancy laundromat though I’m sure they do use a fancy laundry mat for their sharp white chef coats The French Laundry is Keller’s world famous three Miss Star restaurant in Napa Valley California which is V to best restaurant in the world twice in 2003 and 2004 along with his other three Miss Star Restaurant per se Keller is the first and only American Chef to hold three Michin stars at more than one restaurant the inspiration for the cornette hit Keller during a trip to Baskin Robins where he suddenly had the idea to turn an ice cream cone into a Savory treat with salmon and creme fresh was it inspiration that kicked in or maybe something else the salmon cornette itself features a cone-shaped TW filled with red onion creme fresh top with salmon Tartar and garnished with a single chive it sort of reminds me of a locks Bagel but elevated if you don’t want to Fork out $390 the tasting menu at the French laundy but still want a glimpse of the experience then try making these at home

  2. I have Keller’s books and have learned a lot. But will never pay $ to eat there. So ridiculously over priced and Michelin in general is just people playing with food. If I have a beautiful side Of salmon I’m not dicing it up and putting it in a mini cone. I’m grilling it or pan searing it with a glass of wine lol.

  3. Pfff all this prepping for a tiny bite? A quick seared salmon steak is far more filling and satisfying
