Totowa,
NJ – April 2024 – De
Nigris 1889, one
of Italy’s largest and most renowned producers of balsamic vinegar, is
introducing two pumpkin spice vinegars as part of its innovative product line,
heralding the essence of autumn to culinary enthusiasts nationwide. The De
Nigris ‘limited-edition’ Pumpkin Spice Vinegar Glaze and Pumpkin Spice Apple
Cider Vinegar are the first of their kind to hit the shelves in the United
States. Both pumpkin condiments are made in Italy and bring elements and flavor
profiles that are sure to elevate dishes and embrace the crisp taste of autumn.
Sales
of pumpkin spice-related products in retail totaled more than $802 billion in
the 12 months ending July 2023, according to NielsenIQ data. Their report also included an estimate of
the number of pumpkin spice products on the market at over 3,000. One of the
major factors that are expected to accelerate market growth includes the
increasing consumer interest in healthy and natural products.
The Pumpkin
Spice Apple Cider Vinegar provides the same health benefits as your
everyday apple cider vinegar, but with a natural pumpkin spice aroma. This
seasonal delicacy is high in antioxidants and recognized for its digestive and
immune-boosting benefits, thus providing a delightful way to enjoy it while also
nourishing the palate. This versatile condiment can be used to season salads,
marinate meats or tofu, elevate sauces served with main courses, and even
function as a refreshing beverage when diluted with sparkling water.
The Pumpkin
Spice Vinegar Glaze combines the rich sweetness of pumpkin with a bold kick
of spice, as well as the sweet and savory notes that evoke balsamic vinegar
flavors, to create a blend that transforms any dish into a fall harvest. This
product has a complex flavor profile and thickness that makes it ideal to use
for garnishing both sweet and savory dishes such as a pumpkin pie with whipped
cream or drizzled over grilled meats and root vegetables.
“American consumers have a long-standing affinity
for all things pumpkin, especially during the fall season, and as we see that
continuing to grow, we decided to get in on the action,” said Michela De
Nigris, a U.S.-based company executive and fourth-generation member of the De
Nigris family. “The Apple Cider Vinegar and Glaze are the first in our product line
that combine the decadent flavors of vinegar with the classic flavors of fall,
and we are excited to launch this nationwide.”
For
centuries De Nigris has dedicated itself to distributing products of excellence
worldwide. Italian master vinegar makers have preserved the tradition of their
craft, passing it along to the next generations of makers while guiding the
spirit of innovation. The widespread popularity of pumpkin spice in the United
States is ultimately what inspired the idea of bringing the pumpkin spice
vinegars from Italy into the American market. The new product showcases De
Nigris’ ability to enrich recipes with high-quality taste while also keeping in
mind the desire for fresh, exciting kitchen staples.

About De Nigris 1889
Founded in 1889, De Nigris is a leader in the production and export of
vinegars and condiments and was the first label to develop balsamic vinegar in
Modena, one of the nine provinces of Emilia-Romagna located in Northeastern
Italy’s Po River Valley. De Nigris vinegar is a certified PGI (Protected
Geographical Indication) vinegar. These certifications not only attest to the
quality that is assured and monitored, but also the origin and traceability of
the vinegar related to a particular geographic location. Created by
master vinegar maker Armando De Nigris, the family-owned label first opened
their first vinegar mill in 1889. After initial and continued success, Marcello
De Nigris launched the label’s products on to the international market and
widened the product range to include various categories of balsamic vinegar.
Today, De Nigris represents 27% of Italian vinegar exports and 24% of the
production of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
