The two-day OliValue Evaluation, held on May 27 and 28, 2025, at a central hotel in Athens, concluded with great success and impressive participation from every corner of Greece demonstrating that, even in a challenging climatic year, the quality of Greek olive oil remains unwavering. This innovative initiative aims to redefine the perception of extra virgin olive oil tasting competitions.
At the heart of the event was the true market value of olive oil, as perceived by those deeply involved in commercial activity: olive oil producers, millers, traders, brokers, and packaging industry consultants. These professionals, who annually test thousands of samples, understand exactly what the real market and consumers demand.
OliValue provides an open platform where producers and millers meet commercial prospects, creating a realistic space for added value in Greek olive oil.
Organized by Axion Ekdotiki and under the auspices of the Scientific Society of Olive Encyclopaedists (4E), the oliValue Evaluation invests in people. A heartfelt thank you goes to the professionals composing the Coordinating Committee and tasting panel: Dimitra Aliefs, Giannis Aggelis, Giannis Vasilakis, Dimitris Vasilakos, Stefanos Vostanis, Nektaria Kokkinaki, Georgia Kyriakopoulou, Giorgos Nikolarakis, Stelios Sarantis, Giannis Sellas, Panagiotis Stathopoulos, Dimitris Favvas.
As a token of honor and inspiration for the new generation, the evaluation awards bear the names of distinguished Greek scientists who have passed away:
The awards ceremony, accompanied by a special event, is scheduled for autumn, while preparations have already begun optimistically for the 2nd OliValue Evaluation 2025/26.
