New at Trader Joe’s mackerel and tuna (regular can for size comparison)
Looking forward to trying these. The longer than usual cans caught my eye!

I’ve had them both and my wife brought me home more of each already. I had them with saltines to enjoy the flavor. Honestly, the skipjack was good, it needed the light salt. It was tuna though, and I was thinking about making a salad with it instead. It was mid by itself but it would have made a really good salad.
The grilled mackerel was fantastic. A+ Light grill marks, but thankfully it’s in oil so for mackerel, it was not super dry. I very much enjoyed it, definite rebuy and I’m excited for the extra tin waiting for me in the deen den.

Mackerel was decent. Tender and good texture, but a little bland. EV live oil it’s packed in seems of good quality.
Tuna was bland and very chewy. Olive oil blend wasn’t great either. Was like chewing on overcooked dry chicken breast. Would not buy again.
Love the calamari!

Tried both. The tuna is ok. Will have to try in a tuna melt. The mackerel made a wonderful rillette, close in taste to a pot I had in Barcelona.
