PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — We are adding extra flavor to your Friday plans and featuring a local chef who is bringing world-class dining experiences to the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast.
This week for the launch of “Meet Your Neighbor” we featured Executive Chef Christopher Zabita of Cafe Boulud Palm Beach.
Just steps from the sandy Palm Beach waterfront, Executive Chef Christopher Zabita is making waves in the kitchen at Café Boulud Palm Beach. With a rich Italian heritage, Zabita said, “With my Italian background, spending a lot of time at my grandmother’s house. She was always cooking!”
Zabita’s culinary journey began as a teenager in a New Jersey country club kitchen. “Just making some salad. And frying calamari, that’s the only 2 things I had to do that night. When I did that and I didn’t want to do anything else after that, I fell in love with the kitchen,” he said.
His passion led him to an internship at Walt Disney World, where he cooked for thousands of visitors. Zabita was part of the team that earned a Michelin star at Victoria & Albert’s in the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney in Orlando last April.

Now, Zabita’s career has brought him to Palm Beach, working under world-renowned Chef Daniel Boulud. Despite his professional achievements, Zabita enjoys cooking pizza at home. “Probably the thing I get most excited for to cook, is pizza! I make pizza all the time!” he said.
Zabita also shared advice for aspiring chefs, emphasizing the importance of travel and trying different foods from around the world.
