The Amish can *cook* . I went to an Amish restaurant called Yoder’s while on vacation in Florida and everything tasted like grandma cooked it with love. Incredible pie.

Amish make the absolutely best fried chicken
MarzanoAndMeatballs
Things like this and their pretzels make me miss living near larger Amish settlements.

Amish people do not have electricity, indoor plumbing, refrigerators or freezers, etc. They do not shower or bathe to any standards close to what modern society would deem acceptable, and they have constant interactions and exposure to livestock, which means fecal matter. I would not buy any food items from the Amish whatsoever.
Most Amish are lovely people, and they are great for buying things like furniture, sheds, firewood, or using them for home repair type stuff (roofs, windows, etc). Not food.
And before I get down voted to death, a friend of mine is a pharmacist not too far from an Amish community, and he says the most popular drug that they come in for, by far, is mebendazole. It’s used to treat an assortment of worms in humans.
