I think enjoying the taste of Tabasco is a sign of maturity and getting older. Like your taste buds need to develop and one day you’re like…”oh my god this was here THE WHOLE TIME!?!?? “

Family reserve on a turkey sammich after thanksgiving is divine

I have a variety of hot sauces at any given time. This is the only one I always have on hand, even having a replacement bottle waiting in the wings before my current bottle is out.

I literally do not want eggs if I don’t have access to regular Tabasco. I’m partial to scrambled eggs with cheese and several generous shakes of Tabasco

  6. highbackpacker

It’s my favorite sauce. Well, the Family Reserve is now.

If Im eating a burrito or a burrito bowl, I need Tabasco on there it just doesnt taste right otherwise.

Excellent on Mac and Cheese or Stroganoff.

100% – Red my meal copilot. Three ingredients that work incredibly well to inject a little bit of flavor and heat into any dish. Go through a 12oz bottle every week.

Tobacco, franks and siracha heck maybe even Cholula are the go 2 for any meal without failure

  11. I just don’t like the original, I just threw a small bottle away after trying to for the first time. I loved the chipotle one so figured I’d try the original and nah. Pass, I’ll stick to Texas Pete haha

  12. Crystal is better. Peppers are the #1 ingredient (unlike Tabasco). Better flavor, it doesn’t hit you over the head with a vinegar blast that often overpowers subtle flavors in a dish like Tabasco will, and a big ass bottle is like…. $1.19? It’s cheaper than a bottle of freaking water. Crystal and Arizona Tea are the OGs of not raising their prices for decades, come hell or high water. The flavor of Crystal is great, the price is great, and you can either sprinkle it on, or hose it on your food and you won’t ruin it like too much Tabasco will. Crystal wins hands down every time for me.

I like the Chipotle. For creole/cajun dishes I like Louisiana.

Yes even though my favorite everyday table hot sauce is Belinda’s ghost pepper i stock the largest original Tabasco in my house and use it almost daily. You know what’s kind of special is the Tabasco scorpion pepper sauce though you can only get into 3 oz jars but it’s delicious and hot. There’s something nostalgic about the OG Tabasco sauce with that simple vinegary heat.

I really like classic Tabasco (especially their Family Reserve) as a great ingredient to add to foods luke soup and what not while they are cooking to add that heat and flavor I like.

On the other hand, I do not like Tabasco straight as a table sauce, and much prefer other sauces like Crystal or Trappey’s as a cayenne dipping hot sauce.

It’s my go to for eggs and hash browns in restaurants

  17. Axi0madick

I’m inclined to say no, but that wouldn’t be fair since I haven’t had it in so long. I’ll have to give it another shot. I do like their chipotle though.

  18. As a cooking ingredient to add a kick to a recipe? Sure. As a hot sauce? Eh. It basically tastes like hot vinegar. There are so many better options out there, that actually have some taste.

  19. BlackDeath3

I went from “Tabasco as punishment” to using it as my preferred sauce. A real redemption story for the GOAT.

  20. SharpSlice

Great on breakfast foods – hashbrowns and eggs.
