So I’ve had this purple reaper. I wanna say about going on three months now since I started germinating, but compared to the other reaper plants like golden reaper Carolina reaper chocolate, reaper and reaper eggs it seems to be small. Am I just impatient? Also I had some cement done the other day so those little dots are dirty water that was splashed on. Pretty healthy over all. I think…. How does she look?

Some types naturally grow slower but if its that small after 3 months then i will start giving it fertilizer. Make sure it gets enough sun and the water drains well. Protect it from extreme temperatures

My reapers are doing the same. Jalapeños, bells, and scorpion are growing MUCH faster. All seeded at the same time and same soil.

  3. My guess is genetics or it got hit with a cold night. Seen a video somewhere and experienced it myself that pepper plants once going through a night under 12c can slow the growth indefinitely.

Looks like its just in too big of a pot for how tall it is

Reapers need hot nights to grow. Mine have grown very little since I moved them outside. Just something I deal with every year. Once temps only drop to 60s at night they will take off.

All of my peppers are growing extremely slow.

It looks happy and healthy, I wouldn’t be too concerned. Reapers are notoriously slow and I often don’t get peppers until close to the end of the season in Oregon.
