I'll preface this by saying that I'm a white dude who's never been to Mexico but absolutely loves Mexican food.
Recently I made beef barbacoa using only ingredients that I can find in the Netherlands (since I live here). Spoiler alert: there were not thay many, and I struggled a bit to find everything I needed.
Nevertheless, I think they came out great! I added a stick of cinnamon to the pot before putting it in the oven, I don't know if that's blasphemous but it think it gave a nice aroma and complemented the smokiness of the adobo sauce.
