4 to 6 inches long for that variety, so its fine. most of the time you pick them when they’re still a bit bumpy/thorny with some ridge.
assuming you’re growing a green variety, if the tips are going white they’re past ready to pick. if the fruit is left to grow until they get huge and yellow there’s a solid chance the vine is going to stop producing.
