Starting the year off right. Two winters ago I tried to save 6 plants and only one survived to the next year. This past year I saved 5 plants and 4 of them made it. Happy to say that hab plant is in for its 3rd summer now. Just an orange hab but the production is crazy over the course of the whole spring-fall without having to grow up to size. Repotted them 3/22 and already have the first wave of peppers already growing in.

Downside to overwintering – I moved into a new place and had to keep these plus my seedlings in the same room. Aphids really wrecked my seedlings and put them back a good bit. Canโ€™t seem to find a fully effective pesticide for those ***holes.

I did the same by cutting my plants back and putting them in the garage during the coldest weeks. At the moment they are super productive with a ton of pods, many of them now ripe.

One plant in particular is producing dramatically more pods than the others so I think Iโ€™m going to take a bunch of clippings to make clones of it for next year.

Holy fuck those look great! What did you use for the aphids? Did you wash the root balls before moving them inside?

Does anybody else see a happy face on the side of the ghost pepper growing just above and right of center in the last photo?

Sucks with the aphids on the seedlings but these guys really did a wholesome comeback.
