hey guys welcome to another lunchtime review today I’m going to try this Campbell condensed uh this one is the limited edition grilled cheese and tomato soup um it is 10.75 o or 305 G that’s just for this can and probably not much else to tell you about it as far as the description goes uh we bought this at Walmart it was $1.72 for this can we’ve only seen it at Walmart it might be other places but that’s the only place we’ve seen it so it says that there are two and a half servings in the in the container hold it up here see if you can see it better there we go about two and a half servings in the container a half a cup is 100 calories so what is that two 250 calories for the whole can that’s not too awfully bad there’s your other info for you Tammy you have a better picture at the end of the video so the heating directions it’s right here um it says basically to make the to mix the soup you do one can of water to the soup so if you want it creamier you can also do a can of milk so I’ve never done that I’ve always just used water you can do it on the stove top if you want to of course you heat it up in a pan you can do it in the microwave which is what we’re going to do um and uh if using milk just be careful cuz it’s on the it Cooks a little differently so on the microwave we’re going to mic on high for 2 and 1/2 to 3 minutes um in a covered microwave Bowl let stand for 1 minute carefully remove and stir so um I’ve got a bowl here get to refocus so I’m going to do I’m going to follow the directions now to be honest with you normally when I make uh like Campbell Soup I usually only do a half can of water uh just to make it a little bit thicker and richer but I’m going to follow the directions here just like they say I’m going oh that’s thick very very strong tomato smell you know what um now that I’m smelling it you know like like just smelling the ingredients from the can it actually smells like a toasted bread like you would get in a grilled cheese that is so weird um it is a strange strange smell coming from a tomato soup okay so let me get a can of water and we’ll add this a lot of water give it a good stir definitely thins it out a little bit I’m going to put my lid back in my can and I do have a paper towel that I’m going to put over top of the the bowl just so it won’t Splash everywhere in my microwave I’m just going to lay it over the top of the bowl like that and get in the microwave I’ll probably just do two and a half minutes cuz I got a pretty decent microwave I don’t want it overly heated so anyway I’ll get it in the microwave I’ll be back okay so here it is out of the microwave I’m going to give it a stir I think that’s more to just even out the heating than anything cuz it’s not really not really stirring anything in you’re just kind of kind of making sure you don’t have any hot spots things like that there’s nothing you know there’s no no things to stir although you do get some tomatoes in there um you can see how thick it is it’s it’s pretty it’s pretty watery like I said I’m normally you only do like um like half a can of water just to thin it out a little bit I usually don’t do a full can but I wanted to follow the directions for this video um and then I’ll give you my opinion on the directions they give you so I’m going to get this over the table and I’ll be right back all right so we’re going to take a bite or a sip however you want to say you eat soup probably more of a sip than a than a bite for sure it I did look at the ingredients it does have cheese in there which is going to give you that um I guess that grilled cheese kind of flavor so it’s supposed to be grilled cheese and tomato you definitely get the the Tomato for sure I get a little bit of the cheese flavor I said you could really you could almost smell the um like a toasted cheese kind of smell when you when I poured it out and you taste the a little bit of a toasted bread flavor it’s really weird and I looked at the ingredients there’s nothing like really strange in there it’s all um it says it has mostly tomato most of the can is tomato um but it says it contains 2% Le or less of and then it has a cream cheese paste which is Monterey Jack cheese cheddar and surface ripened semi soft cheese that’s what it says um salt uh whey um more salt um natural flavoring which I don’t know what that is um potassium salt it has like 10 different kinds of salt in it citric acid um another kind of AST acid um yeast extract celery extract and garlic extract that’s kind of the big ingredients um sodium wise it’s at 480 mg of sodium per serving and there’s 2 and 1 half serving so you got to you got to keep that in mind I don’t think it’s bad it’s still primarily tomato with a little bit of a Kind like a toasted cheese flavor it’s kind of weird now normally I eat soup with Ritz crackers I’m going to break up a few of these Ritz in there and see what it’s like I like the soup by itself if you I think if you like tomato soup like you eat tomato soup all the time and you want something just a little different to kind of change things up a little bit I think you’ll like this cuz it’s still mostly tomato soup with a little bit of that added like a toasted cheese kind of flavor oh yeah Ritz mix everything better of course you don’t taste the you still taste the Tomato but the cheese flavor is diminished a little bit I personally like it with the Ritz but it’s good by itself I think it’s okay I don’t think it’s it’s definitely not bad by any means it’s um it’s got a good tomato flavor if you like I said if you like a tomato soup already um then this is just going to be something just slightly different than a traditional tomato soup um if you don’t like tomato soup then this is probably not going to change your mind any it because it’s nothing it’s really not that different than tomato soup now you do get that cheese flavor you do get that like uh like I said it’s kind of like a toasted cheese kind like if you’ve taken the the cheese and put it in a pan and and brown the cheese um that’s kind of the flavor you get in there it’s still mostly tomato but a little bit of that cheese flavor and I like it with the rich just because I like rits um I personally would go with only a half can of water to make it a little bit thicker um and make it the flavor A Little Bit Stronger because once you add water to it you dilute it more and more so um so I would probably just do half a c but that’s just my preference you know you do whatever you normally would do with soup um Campbell’s condensed soup normally has a u the way people like it and some people might eat it with no water I don’t know I’ve never had it that way but um but I would I would drop it down personally to half a can that way it’s just got a little bit more flavor to it but I think it’s good it’s not going to like change the impact of food forever but it it’s a different it’s just different so um I’m still only going to give it like a three out of five it’s not something I would eat all the time but I would give tomato soup a three out of five as well so it’s it’s not like this is bad it’s just uh you know I would give any tomato soup probably a three out of five unless it was really horrible um so yeah hope you enjoy this video thanks for watching [Music] ch [Music]

I don't know if I've had tomato soup made with water. I've always used milk lol. If I'm out of milk, I just wont make it. Milk makes it more creamy and less watery. I also add a pat of butter. Looks interesting though.

Watching you drink that soup out of that huge bowl was hilarious! I generally would go with milk or even cream to mix with tomato soup. I have never cared for water in soups, especially tomato soup. I can understand if someone cannot have milk or doesn't like it, but it makes it 100X better!
I bought a can of this last week but haven’t tried it yet. Now I know to add milk instead of water but less than they suggest so it’s not so thin. I wouldn’t want it watery. I’d definitely eat this with a grilled cheese sandwich dipped into the soup.
I always add milk to make it more creamy.
I saw it on Amazon they wanted 9$ a can for it.
I liked this soup. I tried mine with a grilled cheese, it was much better with the sandwich. Still good on it's own, just a little too sweet.

I loved the ending with drinking from the bowl. That is how I always have soup, as I have shakiness using a spoon. I always use 3/4 can of milk when making their soups. Great review.

Growing up my best friends dad made the absolute best grilled cheese sandwiches!!! I have no idea if it was the bread he used, the cheese, the pan or the way he did it… I think that was pretty much the only thing he cooked.. but as the saying goes… do one thing and do it well!!!

When I make tomato soup I do 60% water and 40% milk. I think it's perfect that way.
