Ate at a pretty good restaurant, rate the wine pairing.

Very solid. The somm here is really famous and Austrian so this list makes a lot of sense to me. I’d guess this was in the 150-200 range?

well your menu is curated by Eric Ripert so i assume the pairings for the seafood would be on-point. I think haute cuisine tasting menus can be difficult to judge just by reading descriptions because there are so many garnishes to each dish that add different levels of spice & flavor.

When we ate at Le Bernardin in 2016, the lobster course was paired with Krug Grand Cuvée (which was our first time tasting Krug, therefore memorable), and there was also a sake paired with a King Fish-Caviar. Very memorable and superb food and pairings. Also was the first time we spent more than $1k on dinner for two…the with pairings price was $355/person.

Looks really good if you ask me. Could be a bit more experimental for My part, but i taste a shitload of Wine One a Weekly basis so that is just me Being me

Aldo is on point 💯

The wines are fine but relatively unremarkable.
What is is the choice of font and menu formatting. This genuinely looks like a resort menu. I think it’s the capital letters.

I can’t say I’m familiar with all those wines, but I think they are paired well. May I ask what restaurant it is and what the meal price and pairing price is?

You think they’d allow a couple to split one pairing? Both would order the tasting menu

I like all the pairings except the last one – that seems a bit pedestrian.

If you EVER have the opportunity to try wine from Jurançon, please do. That is such a brilliant pairing and I have yet to see any jurançon wine where I am. Thank you for sharing!
