Went outside this morning and the top leaves are gone? I topped them a few weeks ago but this is new?

There is a deer around my street I’ve noticed recently… could it have had a little midnight snack?

Deer lol. They got my cayennes last night😂 looks like they learned their lesson as notice a few cayennes on ground next to the plant chewed and spit out by mine. Just cover these or put something in front that will move if the deer bump it causing some kind of sudden noise.

Are they done for? I can move them to my deck

Deer, put up makeshift chicken wire fence around them. They’ll be fine, I’ve had peppers come back from deer attacks way worse than that.

Likely deer. They aren’t done-for but you will get a delayed harvest and a smaller harvest since the new growth is gone…well assuming you can get them out of reach of the deer before they get the rest lol. Actually they might not want the rest but they may continue to browse any new growth, which at that point yeah, they’re done-for in terms of any harvest.

I wouldn’t bother with chemical deterrents as they are usually only marginally effective or they only work for so long then the deer get used to it and just eat the plants anyhow. A physical deterrent, like a strong cage system, is going to be your best option.

You’re lucky it’s deer, it’s much easier to keep them away from the plants than it is the mice that frequent my yard around 4-5am.
