Unbelievably beautiful, even at this (relatively) shy early stage, almost entirely primary (wine-speak for “mostly about the fruit”), just so crystalline and precise that it grabbed my attention completely. This was our easy favorite of the lineup our last time tasting there with Jonathan; you can really tell it’s an Eola-Amity bottling, thanks to her delicate winemaking allowing the minute differences in terroir to come through.

Notably darker-fruited than most of her other bottlings, showing a magical perfume of fresh, wild blueberries, mulberries, blackberries, and so on, accented only with cool minty minerality, touches of pine, and that’s pretty much it. So pure and focused, with great depth and sappiness despite being so delicate. It could be more complex and expressive at this stage, yes, but it’s also highly unique, and that means a lot to me. Plus, the tannins and acidity are already in perfect spots. It made me want to write a haiku, so here it is.

    In verdant clearings

Tiny blue pearls rest in leaves

    Flavor bombs for me
