Guests at the star-studded dinner included actor Stanley Tucci and his wife Felicity Blunt, David and Victoria Beckham, Dame Helen Mirren and fashion designer Donatella Versace.
In a speech to the diners, the King thanked renowned Italian chef Francesco Mazzei for creating the menu, and Tucci, whom according to the Palace, inspired the choice of food. The King also proposed a toast to “Italy’s timeless food culture.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla will pay a state visit to Italy and the Holy See in early April and meet Pope Francis to mark celebrations for 2025 Catholic Holy Year, the Buckingham Palace announced.
It will be the 17th official visit by Charles to Italy and the first overseas trip for the British monarch this year as he continues to undergo treatment for cancer.
