I wanted to build something that would be more work initially but almost no work later (definitely not the Florida weave) and after a lot of time spent deciding, I ended up with this! Just built it last night and planted this morning. Drip irrigation is set up, I can’t wait for tomatoes! Happy to answer questions 🙂

Where did you get the trellis frame?

Cool setup, are you single stemming or more? I think I’ve settled on one sucker for 2 stems each with about the same spacing.

    Looks great!!!
Those grow bags are so easy to work with as long as your partner doesn’t weed whack too close lol.

That’s a beautiful thing to behold! You will have the most organized tomatoes on the block! I like that you have space to walk between them as well.

T posts with plumbing piping attached it looks like? I was thinking of doing something similar and now I really wish I had.

I like this. Can you give details about the frame and structure on the top?

That looks great! I love that plastic mesh for cucumbers and squash. Never tried it for tomatoes, but it should be fine.

Another nice feature of a strong trellis system is that it’s easy enough to stretch shade cloth across it if your climate requires it. (Mine does. NE Texas.) Admire your setup; hope you have a fine crop!

Looks awesome but I can’t stop thinking that you should have mowed first lol

I hope you have big plans on how you’re going to use that massive amount of tomatoes!

Sorry for the noobie question, but how does the netting support the plant – do you stick branches through? First year growing tomatoes and I’m winging it very hard with questionable cages lol

How do you do drip irrigation? I’m doing rows of bags like this but I’m running around with jugs.

This year I tried a woven string trellis. After seeing this I’m making mental changes for next year.

  16. Very impressive! I bet you’ll have lots of happy tomato plants!
