Carbon monoxide as ingredient?? Does this impose any underlying health problems?

It’s added to improve the color and make it look fresher. It’s safe to eat. A bit unnecessary, but safe.

A 3 sec Google informed me that carbon monoxide is used as a colorant to make the tilapia pinker.

Modified atmosphere packaging. They use it to preserve the color of meat so it looks fresh. Generally considered safe in the US but other countries don’t allow it for fear that meat could spoil but not look like it.

Totally normal part of fish packaging. It helps fish retain color and a fresh appearance and it’s totally safe.
