Maybe but honestly? It looks adorable and delicious and I would eat a slice.

Soo … are you going to tell us why it’s a mistake? This looks amazing.

Is that meringue on the sides? Where does all the texture come from?

I think your piping needs more work than your garnishing. The green tea part looks fine.

Personally, I would add even more green tea on top. Your cake is very cute and absolutely adorable. Black ribbons also give it a bit of a goth-like vibe, like Wednesday from Addams family (in a good way, because they are a very loving and caring family)

I recommend fully committing and making the top a layer of green, so that it looks less uh moldy

it looks like it was made with love. if i were a baker with a shop i would have this in my window. people love homey bday cakes. maybe cocoa powder? or lemon zest if it’s a lemon cake! you could use freeze-dried mango powder for orange. if you’re ok with powdered suger, you could mix it with tumeric or saffron and dust for a yellow cake! …not sure why i only thought of yellow powders lol

I feel like it would have looked nicer if you used more.

It’s difficult to decipher the shape of the cake from this picture. Too white.
