$200 on marketplace. It does look rough, but I feel like spraying it down a few times would help. Not sure where to start or if it’s even that good of a deal. Any help would be great!

Looks better than mine. Only concern would be how long the hinge and straps have left. I’d go for it.

Yes indeed!

I’d wait on a better deal

If inner pieces are intact, 100% for that price!
It will need a good clean burn, then a new gasket. I’d personally put an updated hinge set on it, worth the extra investment imo after the difference it made in my alignment!

Keep in mind that used ones have no warranty. Over the last 20+ years I’ve probably replaced at least $3,000 worth of ceramics from normal use (at no cost, under warranty). Personally I wouldn’t buy a used one for that reason but if this fits what you’re looking for now, go for it. Just remember that long term it’s a lot more cost effective to start with a new one.

No because you’ll regret not getting a bigger one IMO. This sub likes the tiny ones but I have a large and wish I had an XL. What is this, a mediums

That is a good price if the internal fire rings and the are not cracked. Make sure….otherwise:
The top damper can be soaked in evaporust then oiled with vegetable oil and baked and will be fine. Scrub the grate with dawn and steel wool and then oil it with vegetable oil good to go. The gasket may still be good, won’t know till you fire it up, but it is replaceable.
Just brush the top with dry with a wire brush to get the loose danglers off and call it a day. The inside is only pristine till that first fire.
The wood on the handle might need replacing.
The caster wheels might be rusted and frozen in place….but they are replaceable.
NO CRACKS!

Luckily I’m in no hurry to get one, I think I’ma pass on it. See if I can get one with a good stand or base. I feel like that’s going to be a major factor- where and how to house it.

If it’s not cracked, it’s good.
Note – mine is cracked, and it’s ***still*** good.

After a cleansing burn it will look so much better. Would.

Yes that’s a very good price and a clean burn wood take care of 90% of the problem. You can even put the Rusty cast iron topper inside while it’s burning everything off and then throw a little bit of oil on it to season it and it’ll be good as new.

Yes, yes I would in a minute. Great deal and a nice little project!

What size, medium? If it was a large for $200 it would be a no brainer. This is still a good deal imo
TheFoxsWeddingTarot
That’s an f’ing steal.

The hinge is $100+ but still a good deal if no cracks

I picked up a BGE super cheap, restored what was salvageable, replaced the seal, grill and hinge with new and the total cost was still way less than new and have no regrets, they are made to last.
