I want to say that this would offend Japanese people but then again I could honestly see them making this exact roll.
They really like McDonald’s in Japan.
Eohor
It’s absolutely stupid. But honestly… As someone that doesn’t like raw fish, I’d probably prefer this version.
Frank_the_NOOB
NGL if McDonald’s had this I would order it
Ok_Post_3884
Its not far off from a lot of gimbap you can get at gs25 or cu

Giving an idea to Japan branch of McDonald’s?
lhc987
There is Hamburg sushi.
That said, take away the fries and it’s a lot better.

The only problem i see with this is the fries.
But otherwise, is this really any different than restaurants that sell sushi with steak and various toppings/sauces in it?
Patient_Move_2585
No… Just gross.

Disgusting

How did a half circle become a full circle? The entire demonstration would not have resulted in what’s shown in the end. You can’t forcibly squash a stuffed, flattened, and fully wrapped semi circle into a full circle like that nor have the cross section come out looking like what it did either

There’s a restaurant in Raleigh, few hours from me, called Cow Fish, their whole thing is burgers/steak and sushi fusion. It’s actually really good.

I’ve never seen one of these contraptions—anybody know if these are actually used by home cooks in japan/korea? it seems like more work than a mat
Classic-Exchange-511
Damn, is it really that easy to make your own sushi? I thought you had to use one of those sushi mats and roll it yourself. I gotta investigate this

I’ll never understand what about combining 2 culture’s foods into 1 is ever “disrespectful” or stupid to the other culture. If that’s the case, breakfast burritos should be stupid.
Dayreach
that’s not sushi, that’s korean gimbap… Like seriously, I’ve even ate things similar, the only difference is that Koreans would also insist on jamming pickled radish in there instead of the fries and they’d likely use string cheese instead of slices.
skinny_anaconda
I would eat that…
DerfBugler
McSushi was an SNL sketch back in the day. Not sure this was it, but close enough.
Edv_oing
Stupid but looks ok tbh
