Meal prepping dinner proteins and freezing them has been such a time saver for me. Also, as a family navigating lots of food allergies, finding recipes with new flavor profiles has helped keep me from a dinner rut. I LOVE variety.
Last week, I made the honey harissa chicken from Moribyan, and my whole family loved it. I used this harissa from Trader Joe’s, which works for our allergies. Make sure to call Trader Joe’s customer support if you need shared line information for your allergies. 626-599-3817
My little guy added some Tofutti to his chicken to make it not as spicy, and I made a basic lemon garlic white sauce by adding lemon juice, ground pepper, and garlic powder to safe mayo. My whole family claimed this recipe is a keeper.
I found this amazing blog post from @moribyan with 5 chicken maridnades in one place. Just use your favorite dairy-free yogurt, mayo, or coconut cream in place of regular yogurt in these recipes as you need to. The only substitution I made to this recipe was to swap garic powder for the fresh garlic due to my family’s intolerance of raw garlic. I’ve made so many of her recipes before and loved them. You can find the honey harissa chicken by googling “Moribyan Chicken Marinades” or going to this link. I’m so excited to try more of these!
The paratha shown in this video only has wheat and soy as added top allergens and are AMAZING. They do share facilities with most top allergens, though, so do what is safe for your situation.
Next week, I’m making chicken satay with a tree nut dipping sauce in place of a traditional peanut one. Who says we can’t have delicious food with food allergies? We can!

Have you had honey harissa chicken before? It is sweet, smoky, and a bit spicy. I hear it is a popular protein at Cava.
