After the end of my transaction, I was confused to why everything was $52 but I didn’t investigate further until I got home. I looked at my receipt and these bad boys were $21.99…
Worth it if somebody that’s never had canned clams? Or should I take it back?

That’s a pricey tin but if it was already in my house I’d be eating it!

fucking r i p nonetheless. At least from a returns perspectice it wouldn’t be too bad.

Not worth it imo, just eat it

$20-something dollars is pretty much what this tin MSRPs for. They’re honestly incredible Littleneck Clams done in the European style with a nice olive oil, some garlic, and chili. The oil itself is liquid gold. Yes, it’s a more expensive tin. But I think this is one great example of you get what you pay for.

They are delicious. Up to you if you think that price is worth it though. I lightly lightly toasted up some sourdough and ate it with it. My wife is definitely not a canned fish person and she was shocked and couldn’t stop eating it too. The oil is great soaked up into some good bread.

  5. $176/lb for clams seems a little steep. Lol. Y’all crazy

Can’t think of a single tin I would pay even close to that for.

  7. Pay attention when things are ringing up and know your local laws/store policies. Many places have laws and/or policies requiring the store to honor the displayed price.

These are expensive but they’re absolutely my favorite tin.

  9. You really thought you were about to walk out of the store with this bad boy for $0.67?!

I see myself opening and heating up two cans of Bar Harbor Clam Chowder and adding in these clams and a bit of the oil, stirring gently while heating, and enjoying a lazy man’s dinner with some crusty French bread. A bit expensive, but easier than going out

These little neck clams are like butter. Delish.

I am usually a “mid shelf” buyer but if I saw these at a store near me, I’d make an effort to budget for them on occasion. Island Creek does a lot of work to educate and try to help improve food systems and ecosystems. Coincidentally, I just saw this video which was cool to learn about more of their company’s work https://youtu.be/FB3YW917b80

I’m newer fan of their tins, so I’m still learning about them. The quality is great so far and I really dig what they’re about when it comes to education and passion! https://shop.islandcreekoysters.com/pages/about-us-1
