Chocolate Avalanche (pastry)

Hey NY,

I’m looking for a certain type of French pastry. It’s called many things but most distinctly it’s called a “Chocolate Avalanche”.

Here’s how it looks:

Here’s what it is NOT:
-it’s NOT a chocolate croissant which is like a standard croissant with chocolate in or on it
-it’s NOT a pain chocolat which is like a bun with chocolate inside
-people often suggest the above and it’s just NOT those things

Let me know if you guys know where to find something like that anywhere in Manhattan or Brooklyn. A real French baker will be the best bet. Thanks

Edit: I’m gonna say this has gone kinda how it often does. This isn’t a semantic request everyone. I get the name thing is stupid and confusing and the thing I’m asking for doesn’t have a well defined name. But if I ask for it by the names you think, I’ll definitely get a chocolate covered croissant or a bun with chocolate inside. Also maybe it’s French, maybe it’s not…not the point everyone. This is a food sub, not a historical request.

Just trying to reach out if people know where to get this version of this pastry that you see in the picture.
