GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A popular Grand Forks restaurant will close its doors after 60 years in business.

Italian Moon announced the closing on its website. The final three days of service will be June 18-20.

The place opened as a small Italian food shop on South Washington St. in February 1965. They say the decision was not made lightly. They add Italian Moon has been more than just a restaurant. It’s been a gathering place for families, friends, celebrations and every day moments.

The website says they are also raising funds for a longtime employee who died of cancer in January.
