hi I’m Coy with Koi’s Kitchen and Catering we’re here today with Celebration Magazine and Senior Travel and I have Doug here to help me today and we are going to be making a very simple torillini soup with five ingredients did you ever make torini soup before no if it doesn’t fit in the microwave well that’s not going to work today well I’m looking forward to it oh good deal all right let’s make some soup sounds good to me okay Doug so the first thing we’re going to do today is we’re going to be cooking with Italian sausage this is a mild Italian sausage cuz we’re cooking for seniors today and browned it it’s not all the way cooked but it’ll cook in the crock pot as we’re making the soup so we’ll go ahead and we’ll put put that in first okay and so the next ingredient that we’re going to be putting in here today is going to be these diced tomatoes um now we are using a can opener for seniors my wife suffers from arthritis and something like this is very helpful to her put it on there like that it’s fancy yeah I’m used to doing the um crank i don’t know if it stops automatically or not probably not well we’ll find out we are about to find out aren’t we go ahead and put that in there and we’ll open another can it’s got a mind this thing’s got a mind of its own we’ll just set that over there we’re going to go ahead and we’re going to put some two couple cans of tomato soup in there okay and we’re just almost done and we have one more ingredient to put in there what is that it is going to be this chicken stock uh how many 32 oz 32 oz how many cups is that it would be four four cups 8 ounces in a cup 8 ounces in a cup every time oh I mean it doesn’t change no it doesn’t change yeah in addition to All right Doug so that’s all the ingredients we’re going to put in it for now we do have some we’re going to add later so go ahead and put the lid on that and then we are going to turn that on low okay and then m through the magic of TV we’re going to let that cook all night and then we’ll be back tomorrow morning sounds good sound good yeah got a good night’s sleep one nap later all right Doug good to see you again been a long time yeah I know so we just have the two ingredients left we’re going to start with some chive and onion cream cheese we’ve got about 16 ounces here and just go ahead and just put that into All righty mixture that we already had going all righty kind of thick and don’t don’t strain yourself or nothing yeah there you go wow kind of now we’re cooking yep i hope so isn’t that what we’re supposed to be doing i think so that’s what I read before I came in do you know what the tortillini is named after no I don’t you You want to guess uh no uh fair enough it is named after a woman’s uh belly button in Italian i think uh Venus’s belly button is who it was named after but that’s that’s the story behind it anyway you unique all right and the last ingredient that we’re going to put in is the tortoillini so just go ahead and dump that in the crock pot boy that’s a lot of belly buttons it is a lot of belly buttons isn’t it all righty so and then we’re just going to put the lid on it okay and we’re going to let that go ahead and cook for about another 30 to 45 minutes and then once that cream cheese is melted we’ll just get in there with a spatula and we’ll stir that around and then we’re going to have some torillini soup a few moments later I’ve been beaten all right Doug so this is my favorite part we actually get to taste what we made you take the first bite and then I’ll get a bite of it as well m tasty isn’t it yeah i’m trying to think of what it reminds me of it tastes familiar maybe I’ve had it before and didn’t know it maybe so I wouldn’t know if I wasn’t there again I am Coy with Koi’s Kitchen and Catering and we want to thank Celebration Magazine for being here today and Senior Travel and also Doug for all your help today i hope you had a great time oh I had a great time awesome i’m looking forward to eating the rest of this oh well just take it with you
