Found this guy living in my peppers, has webs built all over one of my plants. Is he good to keep? Does he eat aphids? Should I exterminate him?

  2. Looks like a wolf spider. They are active hunters and will eat insects. Beneficial 100%

Yes, spiders are natural pest control. I love seeing predators bugs in my garden.

I hate spiders but yeah, that one is a friend

  5. I actively capture the spiders I find inside my apartment and put them outside in my garden beds. Little dudes are probably way happier out there anyway. More bugs to eat, and all. He’s just out there vibing. Let him chill.

  6. Brown recluse? Looks like a wolf but as someone has said wolf spider don’t spin webs

I have moved every spider and preying mantis i find in my yard into my pepper plants. Every single aphid vanished after a week or two.

    Natural pest removal!

I’m having to bit by bit overcome my minor fear of these freaky little bastards for the same reason you’re asking lol I need an 8 legged bouncer on my green dance floor. My spider knowledge only goes so far but this one like others have said does look like a wolf. If you find one similar looking with much thinner legs and less markings on it’s ass smash the fuck out of it and burn the evidence.

All spiders are non-selective predators to some degree, so bees and ladybugs are on the menu, however, spiders consume far more pest insects than beneficial, greatly tipping the scales in their favor. Plus, they’re free, available around the clock, with some taking the night shifts while others are diurnal.

I am tend to let spiders hang out in my garden. They do a good job eating some of the insects. So I say keep him.

Looks like a wolf spider. Leave him alone and he’ll guard the plants

You will love them. Just give it some space. Their insides can’t handle the capsaicin and they only eat aphids and insects.

yes he is natural pest control, you will have more non beneficial insects visiting than beneficial so his chance of success with foul beasts is high!

In general, I am a live and let live when it comes to everyone–although I will put traps (snap or electric) for mice in the house/garage, bc disease.

I leave spiders be where they are–they are doing their jobs. And it’s really not good for them to “relocate”…as with many things, what we think of as kind or humane–“relocation” traps/moving outside–is really just condemning them to a slow and painful death. Not all, but… that’s why I just leave the spiders alone, wherever I may find them, if at all possible.

I personally do not, but that is because I am deathly afraid of spiders.

When picking the fruits I just lightly mist them away if they’re near and get em. Super helpful for flies
