I’m so glad I have a long growing season. I sow poppies in January and I don’t get the last vegetable harvest finished until mid October. Tomatoes are one of the few things I don’t bother trying to grow from seed, though. So much hassle for little reward and they’re so needy too.

I didn’t even know a tomato could look like this (said with a mouth full of saliva)

How are your eggplants and peppers doing (assuming you have them)? I had great luck with eggplants in direct sun, and peppers in sun followed by afternoon shade. My peppers overwintered even (Jax 9a). The truly phenomenal summer crop was sweet potatoes – man, they loved the heat so much.
Now I’m in CT and I’m waiting on fruit. I have lots of peas!

I literally pulled my first blushed tomato this morning. I feel like it’s been 300 years since my last garden tomato.

Yup. I didn’t get many tomatoes this year. May was just too hot.

So weird. I’m in Georgia and we’re just now getting out first tomatoes. Last summer we had them through August. Just one state away.

I feel you OP! I’m in south Florida (zone 11a) so I had to cut my tomatoes down weeks ago because the crazy drought then pouring rain cycle splits fruit and invites all sorts of pests and disease.
What are you planting for summer?
Ivy_Thornsplitter
Yep. Central Texas. Most of my flowers are starting to drop. I’m shaking the dickens out of the plants to try and get a few more but it doesn’t seem to be helping. My peppers though are looking great
