There is a vintage BGE for sale in my area. The price is low, like <$10 currently (Auction). Should I get it and is there any issues I should be aware of.

That is not a BGE, it is an imperial Kamado from Japan or another brand. They are made from clay so do not cook well at high temps.
you can find aftermarket parts online to fix them up

For $10 I’d give it a shot
