I happened upon this little guy for free. What are some basic maintenance item(s) I need to do to get her doing? I have pics of items that are cracked. I’m not sure if those are deal breakers or not.

Over all it looks pretty dang good. I’d fix the daisy wheel as best possible and do a clean burn. After that, just enjoy.

How do you just find a free egg?

Use Google and find out.

Crack in grate riser ring is not an issue.
Just replace the the top regulator.
Make sure you have some type of spacers under egg when cooking. Air cooling for the bottom. Burns wooden supports.
I do not do clean burns. Ruins gaskets and is mostly unnecessary.
Use lower cost charcoal to get started and learning to use the grill. Start with hamburgers and hot dogs. After a few try a steak or chicken.
