I used to have to do this when I was working in the oilfield of North Dakota. There weren’t portable lunch box heaters back then and I’d warm food up on the dash in the winter.

Warmer weather would be me eating lots of salads and MREs

That’s wild it cooked so much. Glad you enjoyed it friend. Next time you do this, bring a meat thermometer to check temps!

  3. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should …

I used to work in a news room and every July we had the fire department come out and cook eggs on someone’s dashboard. We would also leave a reporter in a vehicle with the widows up and they were attached to a a machine and we would watch their blood pressure and heart rate skyrocket. Great weather segments.

Yes I too would want to consume my steak cooked under the sun in a plastic bag. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

A shitty steak in exchange for food poisoning doesn’t sound like a good deal.

My brother used to reshape some aluminum foil to reheat food in his car. He never did it with anything raw though.

Ohhh yeah dash steaks are the best! I do this every-time i want botulism for a week!!!

I used to refuel aircraft in the Air Force, every summer in the desert heat I’d have a shoe box lined with aluminum foil, cook burgers in that thing on the dashboard as I was throwing fuel on an aircraft.

  10. No thanks. I do like that he seasoned it though!

At least should’ve wrapped it in foil. No microplastics for me 🤢

There was a radio station that would give a recipe for dashboard dinners. None really worked out! Yuck 🤮

This isn’t the same as when I reheated spaghetti on the work truck at the construction site

I used to work on IMSA sports car racing and we had a race at NJ Motorsports Park maybe 15 years ago, it was like 110 outside and the guys at Turner Motorsports cooked a steak in the passenger side floor board of a BMW M6 over the course of the race and ate it after and it looked delicious!

It’s not grilling unless it’s tied to the grill.

This is more like dine & dash.

As a truck driver, I’ve heated up (reheated) all kinds of food either on the engine somewhere or on the dash. Food in a well sealed container on the defrost vents and covered by a coat or something will get steamy hot after a while. But I have never even contemplated “cooking” a steak on the dash like this. I guess it’s possible, but can’t imagine it’s very good. Seems like a waste of a completely good steak.

  17. This is one of those “just because you can doesn’t mean you should” situations.

“Sir how would you like your steak?”

“Moo, with a dash of microplastic”

  19. Well that explains the terrible speeding in the FedEx trucks.

  20. Strange_Window_7206

That was im temperature danger zone for a long time. Would not eat that! Unless you want to get sick

  21. That’s nothing, in a USPS LLV you can bake a pizza

  22. That’s fine as long as you scrub it down with some Dawn first
