Hey, how can I tell if my Poblano is ready? I only have one right now and I am not sure what to look for to ensure I pick it at the right time. Thank you in advance!

It looks fine to pick but it won’t be ready until it’s full of meat and cheese

I’d probably pick it. You’re picking them green, so as long as it’s a mature size you’re good

I like them ripe and red. They taste better and get a little spicier.

You should wait for them to turn red or fully darken first, you’ll get the best heat and flavor that way.

Ready if you want it green. They tend to go from a slightly lighter green to a darker green when they hit full size.

That said, if you wait until it ripens to red, it’ll have a more complex taste – Sweeter, and a more well rounded heat in my opinion. Looks great! 🙂

I would recommend letting it turn red for the first one. You can try and see how the fully developed and ripened pepper tastes. Then, try a green one that’s probably on the plant already and compare. Decide what you like more.

Idk that ancho’s looking a tad juicy for me
