Here’s a useful tip: Rather than storing streaky bacon in its original packaging in the freezer (which becomes a nightmare to separate once thawed) roll up each piece individually and transfer to a resealable bag. This way you can easily remove the amount of rashers you need.

So what’s streaky bacon and what are rashers?

Thanks for calling out it was streaky bacon. I wouldn’t have been able to tell it wasn’t the normal kind

Lay the bacon flat in layers between parchment paper and it’s much easier to separate and fry up when ready.

Great tip, but if you have the space I prefer to pay flat on a baking sheet (or similar) and stick in freezer. Then you can pull slices that are easier to cook / cut up into pieces / etc rather than a curled up piece.

And I do this with loads of stuff, freeze individually then stash into a resealable bag.

I do similar, but instead I lay it flat on butcher paper so that I have sheets that are easy to store/thaw. Just peels right off, easy to cook.

I do the same with ground beef. Been buying both in bulk from costco for about a year and it has made life and quick meals much easier.

I just cook it all and then any leftover cooked bacon from the meal gets kept in a baggie in the fridge. Already cooked cold bacon is great to throw on sandwiches like BLTs, if I manage not to eat it all by snacking on it every time I walk past the kitchen. Also reheats well if I don’t want it cold.

  8. I just fold it all in half together and put it in a plastic storage container lol

Leftover…bacon? Never heard of such a thing.

I’d vac seal it. Seems like bacon is pretty susceptible to oxidation

I’m sorry, this is probably a cultural difference, but what is leftover bacon?

    Leftover bacon

I know those words individually but….together? No

  13. I like the idea of rolling it. That seems so obvious, yet there I am wrapping each piece in Saran Wrap so they don’t stick together
