Hospice and she’s eating? Give her some ice cream or somthing she really wants. Bless you both.

Typically hospice means comfort care aka patient can have whatever food they request I mean it’s still gonna be hospital/nursing home food but just whatever they ask for most people don’t realize 99% of nursing homes hire a third party cooking company to handle food prep and at least every nursing home I’ve ever been in doesn’t have a actual licensed chief it’s random people without any certificates most hospital or nursing home cooks make minimum wage aka for minimal skill set

I don’t see the problem, it’s a salad?

It should be all designer drugs and flaky chocolate filled croissants in hospice.

Just awful. My grandma was in hospice for a few weeks, and we were really lucky we had enough money to put her somewhere good. It was actually a large house in a residential neighborhood, and everything about it was just wonderful, including the food. They would be embarrassed to serve something like this.
Going into hospice (literally deciding you’re going to die) is hard enough, you shouldn’t have to eat this crap.

Probably followed the serving with a $60 bill.

Palliative care facilities should have professional chefs working in them, the dying should be able to eat whatever the hell they want

I think that is monstrous. I’m in my sixties and am scared that this is my future. Thank you for sharing this. That’s sadness in a cup.

That’s a salad made by someone who’s never eaten a salad in their life

Wow. I wish they gave more consideration into the food they give. It could be the last meal.

We used to sneak my grandpa cheeseits and KFC into the nursing home. I don’t know how, but you gotta smuggle her some watermelon. ❤️ Good luck.

Even when I’m healthy I wouldn’t eat the salad. It’s tough balancing act though. You don’t want to mess them up with way overly rich food which could mess their stomachs up.
