I’m thinking about this because I just made the most beautiful crème pâtissiére and I’ve never once had to use a sieve or strainer to get it smooth/not eggy. And I feel very snobby about it.

So feel free to share! What’s your most braggable skill? ♥️

I can get pretty creative with my single serve Creme Brulés 😀

  2. Paddingtonsrealdad

When the pate a choux does exactly what it should in the oven

  3. CakePhool

I great on making cakes that the birthday person loves, might not be fancy but it always the taste they like.

I make a pretty decent bagel. Any time I have to go in to the office people beg me to bring some. It’s taken me years of research and practice to get my recipe and technique down, so I’m glad people like them haha.

It’s cake season for me June, August, September, October, December, all birthdays, and all cakes that need to be made.

I make everyone’s cake, whatever they ask for, I have made for the last ten years, give or take a few birthdays due to time and had to go to the bakery, but nothing hits like my cakes.

I’ve never messed up Swiss meringue buttercream. One day it will humble me but not yet! (And also, that looks delicious and you should brag for sure)

The variety of pies I make & that the bottom crust always stay crispy

My baking skills aren’t anything to be smug about, but I guess how many people ask me for the recipe. I have refined the process of making the cookies from the recipe inside the oatmeal lid for 30 years to the point that people never believe that’s what it is.

That I’ll eat what I bake even if it’s not right.

I bake damn-good cookies. My dad literally requested cookies instead of cake for father’s day.

Candy making, especially when you make a candy and it’s just one inclusion in another recipe. While they are not my favorite tasting cookies, everyone is obsessed with the browned butter toffee chip cookies I make and it feels fun to do a casual brag about making the toffee for it even though toffee is insanely easy to make.

This might sound silly on the baking sub, but my pie crust!

I always thought it odd that some people buy pre-made crusts, but I just thought that maybe it’s a time thing. I love making pies (been doing making them with my grandma and mom my whole life), and coworkers, friends, even pie judges always remark on how flaky and delicious my crusts are. My husband and I also like to visit Amish country, which to me is the capitol of quality pies, and my husband always ends up disappointed because he thinks my pies are better.

  13. That I made my first piped meringue basket age 8 – circa neveryoumind. Lord i miss that excellent set of baking books my dad gave me. He was not one to keep boys out of the kitchen.

They’re nothing special, but I can whip up a batch of cookies real fast.

  15. I got macarons perfect on the first try. I went in expecting to fail, but I guess I did enough homework to understand what not to do and why not to do it.

I guess my baking skill is being able to follow a recipe well

Im pretty awesome at flavor combos and sussing out what it is that a person is wanting based on vague flavor descriptions and comparisons. Lol. People give me a few glimpses into their desired flavors, textures, sweetness level etc and I can create the perfect treat for them. Im not talking about for family where they would claim it was perfect even if i was wrong, but anyone. Ive create desserts for complete strangers and it was EXACTLY what they wanted but couldnt figure out a dessert that they could name to ask for.

  17. Affectionate_Time834

I mean, they’re not fantastic, but I can make a mean croissant in a timely fashion

  18. NintendKat64

Ive make ice cream that is so good I might quit my day job if I can figure out how i made it again lol 😆

  19. breadycapybara

  20. Vegetable_Meal2043

  21. Ill_Spend_674

That I can hand roll more than 150 pies in a day.

I’ve never had carmel crystallize. Not once. I realize I have just spit in the baking God’s eye and am doomed henceforth.
