It appears a long-time favorite Warren restaurant has closed.

As of Saturday, Firenze Restaurant’s website simply says: Firenze July 10, 1964 – June 21, 2025.

No explanation was given for the closure and the restaurant’s Facebook page appears to have been disabled or removed.

The casual, popular Italian dining spot on 10 Mile Road was known for its homemade ravioli, pizza, cannoli and for its fish and chips. Many locals report going there with their parents as children before becoming customers on their own.

Recently, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was filming his Secret Service show, which airs on FOX, at Firenze. The show has Ramsay helping struggling restaurants after a secret inside source reveals to the chef what major issues it is facing.

Firenze announced it was closed for remodeling and reopened earlier this month with a new menu, which was posted on social media, without many of the old standards that were favorites of many customers. Some items, like the fish and chips, were relegated to daily special status once a week and others, like the salad and very popular bread that came with meals, were completely eliminated.

Many residents expressed surprise at the abrupt closing announced on Saturday with some going as far as calling the shuttering “tragic.”

“Firenze on 10 Mile is closed?” said longtime customer Mary Mataczynski. “No, no, no, no.

“It is my nephew and my mom’s favorite place; my grandmother used to take us there in the ‘60s and we’ve been going ever since.”

Resident Tess Wdowiak Bonga posted on social media that she had a baptism party there three years ago and many birthday parties and other special event dinners over the years.

“It is a loss,” said resident Greg Donahoe. “I really feel for the employees.”

A call to the restaurant was answered by a recording stating the hours of operation for Firenze.
