I love the just bare chicken nuggets, but I don’t love the price. I have historically struggled with homemade chicken nugget recipes that have a lighter breading, so when I saw this recipe, it looked easy and promising! i liked it, and it was super easy to throw together! definitely crispy and crunchy, I was personally not thrown off by the canned chicken.

  • drain and rinse a 4oz can of chicken
  • add to bowl, mash chicken to become finely shredded in texture, squeeze out excess liquid
  • to that bowl, also add 1tbsp of egg whites, 2 tbsp shredded low fat cheese, 1.5 tbsp parmesan (cheap powdery stuff don’t get fancy), some zero cal buffalo sauce and ranch powder if you’d like
  • mix together well, form into chicken nuggets, place on lined baking sheet
  • air fry at highest setting (mine is 400f), flipping occasionally, until you think they look good. for my very first flip, I did have to use a spatula to maintain the shape whilst flipping, but they still turned out great and held their weight beautifully, so don’t be scared if that happens to you.

  • The fries were just Alexia brand fries that I had lying around, about 110 g air fried

Looks yum! The air fryer has been so instrumental in letting me have my favorite “fried” foods and sticking to my calorie goals. I bucked the trend for so long “It’S jUSt A cOnvEcTIOn OvEN.” I was so wrong. I cannot recommend a basket style (makes a difference) air fryer enough!
