Listed for $350 on marketplace. Good deal? I have not cooked with this style of smoker or charcoal before (I currently have pellet).

Not a good deal. This is Kamado Joe Classic I, which right know retails for $899; a month ago, it was $550 new at BJ. If you get a brand new one, you will get lifetime warranty for outer ceramicsz
This unit also has a clear damage outside (paint peeling off), so make likely it has other issues going on.
If you really want this, I would offer something lower, like $200 or less. Or, if you got some time, you can wait for some clearance or sale throughout the year.

Not a bad deal, new would be around $800 + tax and shipping. Just will want to replace the top vent if you do get it, but looks like it’s in pretty good shape

Buy it!! Also you need to look for any visible cracks to NOT BUY

Not a bad deal. I just saw that BJs (if you have a membership) has them, new, on sale for $519 today. That is more expensive, but then you also get the warranty with it. If you buy used, the warranty doesn’t transfer, unfortunately.

I Don’t think its worth it, especially with the visible cracks

Depends on you. Offer $300. Or wait for a CLASSIC 2 o show up. Might eventually. The 1 is a great grill and, if it is your first kamado, will be a fun way to cook for decades. You just need to decide if you want a kamado (you do), what you want to spend, how long you want to wait, and how hard you want to search for a better deal that may never materialize. Get it and start learning how to use it or suppress your desires.

350 for a cracked bottom Classic… is a laughably bad deal. Even half that, seems like a not great deal. On that same market place you’ll see “new” Classic 2 that someone bought off floor in a store for 500$… trying to sell for 800. Offer them 600. Or wait until you find your own floor model sale for less than 600$. Or less than 500$ for this same model – new, not cracked, with a warranty.
50 bucks or “it came with the house”, this is a fine grill. Otherwise, no, no it’s not a good deal.

I picked up a used one that needed a few minor fixes (deep clean, new gasket, bending the band into shape, bolts for the base) for 125…the crack in the base makes this one immediately not worth it. I picked up a new one for $449 from a small hardware store. The warranty is really important on these grills, you will use it and it’s not if, it’s when.
I’m not sure even the 125 deal was worth it, but I wanted an extra set of grates and figured I was spending a bit on top to learn the ropes of maintenance without messing up my new grill. Plus it eliminated my desire for a big Joe for now.

As long as it checks out, it’s a solid deal. You can occasionally get it new for about $550. If you can wait, it might not be a bad idea to wait for one of those deals. If you buy it new, it comes with a lifetime warranty.
