My wife surprised me with my first pellet grill for my birthday, but it caught fire before I got a chance to cook anything. I'm hoping Weber's customer service gets back to me quickly.

What exactly caught on fire? You’re not related to the guy that was asking if he could use his smoker without pellets are you?

Ouch. If it were me it’s going back to the store for an exchange. I have an older smoker that caught fire and it compromised the paint, and it is now a rusty mess.

What pellets where you using? What steps did you use for burn in? Did the hopper catch fire? The burn pot will actually catch flame. This smoker does smoke alot at startup, and once the fan kicks in it cuts way back.

ITT: person blasts smoker to max, surprised when it gets super hot.

Silly question, but did you attempt the burn off while in manual mode? That will continuously feed pellets from the auger to the fire pot.
You’ll notice the temp will not show but rather “1-10” on the PID.
